Rider Comments:

  • "The Glenn Highway is nothing special for the first hour or so as the choppy road takes you west out of Glennallen. Low scrubby trees and rundown trailer houses dominate the scenery for awhile. Eventually, however, the road enters some spectacular mountain scenery and the road surface improves as well....or maybe I just didn't notice the roughness any more. The scenery remains great all the way to Anchorage but the busy traffic between Palmer and Anchorage will force you to tend to business rather than gawk. Even though a longtime Alaska resident had warned me that driving in Anchorage was "suicidal", I found Anchorage's drivers to be well behaved by lower 48 standards." - Bob Wisness (9/18/07)
