An absolutely FANTASTIC ride!
Keep in mind this is a very popular road for tourists and, unfortunately RV's as well.
Hitting this in the off-season is the key.
Pines to Palms is the perfect name for this road as it takes you from high mountain forests to Palm Desert (or vice-versa!).
The twisties are notable as you start the climb out of Palm desert and there are several vista points that are on blind curves with LOTS of people pulling on and off of the road at slow speeds.
Another set pops up a few miles west of Lake Hemet, but with much less traffic.
Weather tends to stay consistent, but temperature changes are inevitable.
Be prepared to peel down and layer up more than once.
Take the time to stop and look around!
Absolutely gorgeous!

This is a beautiful scenic twisty road no matter which direction you choose to ride it.
Make sure you dress for the large changes in temperature that you will experience.
It's more fun to ride it during the week when there are fewer vehicles and fewer cruisers.
