Rider Comments:

  • "This was my favorite road as I spent a week in Colorado. Very little weekday traffic so you can easily travel at your own pace. Pull off to check out the view and rare was the car passing by. A very good mix of curves on the edge of the mountain as well as down through the woods in the southern section. Came across a cattle drive in the straight sections around Crawford, but other than a short break to let them pass and then dodging some cow pies that was cool also." - Anonymous (7/25/10)
  • "This is the most exciting road in all of Colorado. Been on it twice and getting ready to go again this year. The views ae fantastic!!" - Bill Young, Lubbock, TX (7/18/08)
  • "This road starts out a little lame, but then it turns into a very scenic ride! There are several turnouts and the road is very twisty. This road takes you thru the Black Canyon National Park. You may want to eat, or get a drink in Hotchkiss, there is little ammenties along the way." - Steve Sullivan (9/7/07)
  • "Absolutely fantastic Colorado road. Watch out for the deer crossing the road. Curvy, not much traffic, great surface, very little dirt or rocks. Nice scenery if you like that (my wife loved it), nice places to stop to view the north side of the canyon. Could do this piece of road (leaving out of Gunnison is the best section) over and over." - Tim Tracey, Monument, Colorado (8/25/07)
