The Ozello Trail is fun and scenic.
Old Florida at its best.
The roads are usually clean and traffic sparse.
A few tricky spots demand attention so you don’t end up in the bush or in the water.
The restaurant nearly at the end of the road is consistently good and like many, specializes in mostly fried food.
The trail is a nice ride destination for group rides too, as the restaurant has a large back section perfect for get-togethers.
Check it out and enjoy the scenery!
- 'The Motogeezer' (5/29/13)
Lot's of twists in the road, plenty of shaded riding, and sawgrass/water views.
Delicious seafood and cold beverages at Peck's Old Port Cove.
- Rider from Brooksville, FL (7/9/10)
Beautiful, scenic Ozello Trail winds through sawgrass hammocks and woods, all the way to the Gulf of Mexico.
Old Port Cove is a good seafood restaurant and the Island Outpost is a great place to stop for breakfast or a cold beer & sandwich.
Go over the causeway just past Old Port Cove to stop sign, turn right.
There is a small county park with the BEST view!
- Rider from Ozello, FL (1/25/09)
Great road with lots of turns, 50 of them in 9 miles.
Lots of fun and scenery.
Nice little grill at the end for a bite to eat.
- Rider from Gulfport, Florida (10/24/07)
This run is a must do for any looking to get out of local town boredom.
The first half is just getting there but once you see the name pointing you to Ozello Trail and the Circle K landmark, you make the left and the good time happen quick.
Ten miles can quickly turn into sixty mile with just six passes.
Cops become our concern heading north on US 19, but on the trail only saw one.
Ride and enjoy it's a blast.
- Rider from Palm Harbor, Florida (5/28/07)
The only road to the fishing village of Ozello.
Heads west from US 19 south of Crystal River and dead ends at the Gulf of Mexico.
I call it the 'mini dragon'.
Lots of tight twisties {for Florida} and scenic views.
If you run off, you don't go over a cliff, you get wet!
No real destination to speak of, I think there is a gas station/store and a bar or two but that's it.
Residences scattered about on the side roads.
Great scenic ride that throws in some seldom seen curve action.
Smell the salt air!
- Rider from Silver Springs, Florida (1/26/07)
A 10 mile twisty road through the marshlands of Florida.
Twisty road all the way with only 2 short straight-aways.
Great scenery and an amazing resturant at the end of the trip.
