We rode Highway 11 today (8/2012).
Beautiful road with curves and rolling hills through the country side of southern Indiana.
No areas of construction and the road was in good shape.
Highly recommend a stop by 'Granny's', a nice little restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner plus many ice cream flavors for a nice treat.
Located in Elizabeth where IN-211 junctions with Route 11.

Wonderful ride from Elizabeth to Laconia.
However, until Oct. 2009, SR 11 is said to be closed about 1 mile after SR 337 (from the N) for a bridge replacement project.
They make you detour about 26 miles back up SR 337 to Corydon and then SR 135 back to Highway 11.
They do not tell you the length of the detour although the detour signage is well marked along the route.
The truth is that you can ignore the detour and go about 1.5 miles to E. Old Goshen Rd SE and take a left.
Go .5 miles to Ron Kitner Bottoms Road SE and take a right.
Go about 1.5 miles to Hooptown Road SE and take a right.
Go about 3/4 mile and you are back on Highway 11.
You've gone about 1 extra mile instead of 26 and all on 2 lane paved road!

A wonderful route with beautiful scenery, with a great old-fashioned General Store in Laconia and another at the end of the route in New Amsterdam.
Some challenging twisty roads, but you won't regret making this trip.
Easy to get back to 'civilization'.
