- Rode this after a day of grinding through Metro Chicago. It's a real breath of fresh air, with plenty of tree-lined canopy and light traffic. The Indiana Dunes National Seashore (three sections) provides well-preserved public access to Lake Michigan. Plenty of services at both ends. - Rider from Durham, NC (7/3/11)
- US 12 out of Gary, heading east, is a nice stretch of road. You can catch it where Interstate 65 ends. There are some really nice historic sites along the way and once you get to Michigan City, just keep on going to the Michigan border...beautiful road. - Rider from Valparaiso, Indiana (6/4/07)
