Rider Comments:

  • "I just did the 117 ride from Waltham to Leominster. It was a cloudy morning and the foliage was past peak, but it was still a great ride. Bolton Orchard is a perfect place to stop for a snack and a pretty clean public bathroom out back. The only beef is that on a Saturday a.m. you get behind some slow pokes doing their errands, and you have to be patient until you get to a passing zone. Overall, a very nice ride." - John Gentuso (10/25/08)
  • "Great scenery and nicely paved roads. Stumbled upon this myself after moving onto Hanscom AFB. Definitely not a "baby Mt. Palomar" or anything, but low traffic volume, nice sweepers, and great scenery make it a great ride. Plenty of roads to turn off onto and explore also." - Jack Shrader (5/3/08)
  • "I frequently ride from Waltham, Mass. to Leominster and can't figure out, first of all, why you start at Stow (it should be the other way around - and why Stow? Heck - it should be Leominster)! I'd suggest your readers start at Waltham instead. Face it, Waltham is nothing to rave about - but in just a mile or two, you're on your way to a beautifully scenic, typical 'New England' semi-rural, nicely paved and almost always empty ride, clear out to Leominster. You'll extend a really nice ride even further (I've done it lots this fall and it's wonderful)." - Paul Wesel (11/19/07)
