- I did Route 215 on 9/29 and 9/30, 2011 as part of the triangle while staying in Maggie Valley. more...In my opinion this is one of the top roads, if not the top road, in the Smokeys. It has it all: straights, sweepers and lots of twisties, fantastic scenery, and 5000’+ elevations plus waterfalls and rivers. Very light traffic to boot. From 64 to BRP it has new pavement and is in excellent shape, just watch out for some loose gravel where they backfilled the edge of the road in this section. The turns are not very banked and some are flat so it helps make it more challenging as you climb to BRP. BRP to 276 has been ruined as it was just tarred and graveled (chatted) in this section with loose gravel everywhere on the way down the mountain. This makes this section very dangerous right now, my bagger broke loose a few times going just 15mph. Still my favorite Smokeys ride tho. - Mikey, FLHR, Cedar Grove, NC (10/8/11)
- Unbelievable ride on par with the best of the roads I've ever ridden. more...Pavement quality was outstanding and only a little gravel here and there, but it would have taken a dump truck full of gravel to make me feel any different about this road. Amazing views around every turn, throttle-twisting technical turns mixed with broad sweepers, turnouts at the right spots to get the cages out of the way. This was an epic ride with peg scratching thrills and sublime views. One hell of a road! - B. Webb, Orlando, FL (10/8/11)
- I rode on 215 yesterday, 08/05/10, and glad to report that the road is in good shape. more...A lot of it has been repaved over the spring and summer and what wasn't repaved, has been repaired well. Mostly smooth and clean, I had no problem pushing my 84 Interceptor hard. Although I live fairly close this was my first time riding 215, but it's sure not gonna be my last!! - Golden Carper (8/6/10)
- Just rode this one today, from the BRP south to Rosman. more...The road is in a bad state of repair, broken asphalt in the corners, humpy/bumpy corners, very unnerving to ride. I was disappointed to not be able to push the corners more. - J. Caldwell (8/29/09)
- We took this road as an afterthought because parts of the BRP were closed. more...It was one the best choices ever. An outstanding road that has all the elements of Deals Gap and the Cherahola without the traffic or the THP. And the scenery is magnificent. - Bob (3/23/08)
- One of the best rides I have ever done. more...I was fortunate enough to hook up with a couple of local sport bike riders who knew the road like the back of their hands. BRP to Canton is awesome! - BRP rider, Crestview, Florida (11/12/07)
- On a recent vacation to NC, we took this route back from the BRP to Canton. more...Unfortunately, we had the kids with us in a minivan. I was drooling all the way down and envying every bike I saw. Can't wait until next year when I will take the bike up with us. - SportRider, Orlando, Florida (11/7/07)
- After the weekend, Rally in the Valley, Sept. 14-15th, we stayed three more days in Maggie Valley, NC. more...Route 215 is one of the scariest in NC or any where we have been. It is truly curvy, high, beautiful and fun. Strurgis, Daytona and yes even Deals Gap, 'The Dragon', does not compare. They do not have the elevation or waterfalls that 215 has. - Cindi Williamson (9/21/07)
- We rode this last weekend from the Blue Ridge Parkway to US 64. more...Fantastic ride and beautiful scenery. Many good side roads to explore also. - Rider from Alabama (9/11/07)
- Highway 215 is full of twisty turns, sweepers, and magnificent scenery. more...Waterfalls, lakes, and arrival in Waynesville, which is full of quaint shops and excellent restaurants. - Rider from Lake Toxaway, North Carolina (7/24/07)
- My favorite road in North Carolina. more...Lake Logan is one of the most picturesque lakes in the USA. Waterfalls, and great riding. Very little traffic mid week. Stop to enjoy along the way. - Rick Goforth (9/25/06)
