My girlfriend & I rode to the Summit (her on the back of my Honda VTX 1800F) in August of '07.
The scenery is unbelievable!
If you are scared or nervous of heights (Like I am) it is a challenge!
Once you pass the tree lines the road gets very narrow.
Going up you are on the outer edge and believe me there is only inches from the roads edge to going over the edge!
It looks like you will ride straight off the road in some places, it gets so vertical you only see sky.
I was a little too uncomfortable going up to enjoy it.
Coming down I found to be much more relaxing & enjoyable.
The wind also makes it pretty challenging.
It was 75° and calm at the base of the mountain, once we reached the summit it was 50° with 20-30 MPH winds.
I am glad I experienced the ride, not sure if I would do it again.

Eight-miles south of Gorham, New Hampshire, all types of motorcycles climb the mostly paved, 12-percent (average) grade, toll road to the summit of Mount Washington.
The best weather for riding to the summit usually occurs during July-August, but check the local forecast to avoid discovering the road closed due to inclement conditions.
On a clear day, the panoramic views above timberline include Mt. Marcy in New York's Adirondack Range, 130-miles to the west, and the Atlantic Ocean, 60-miles to the east.
In addition to visiting the restaurant and museum at the summit, be sure to observe close-up the unique and historic steam train as it arrives from or departs to the base of the mountain.

Was rated as one of the top ten driving (riding) roads in the world by Automobile Magazine!

You have to do this road!
It is challenging, both up & down the mountain (watch for soft sand & ditches).
If you are lucky to have good weather & a clear day, the views are breath-taking.

Mostly unpaved.
No guardrails on one side and deep drainage ditch on the other.
Narrows to one lane in some areas.
Well worth the trip for the scenery when the weather is good.
You can see as far away as Vermont, Maine, and Canada.
Each year, Mount Washington hosts the Ride to the Sky, a one-day event for bikers!
