US 93 from Ely to Las Vegas is actually a really nice ride.
While it can be warm in the summer (especially as it drops into Vegas), eastern Nevada is on very high ground and, though usually dry, it gets very cold in the winter.
Much of the riding is above 7000 ft.
A few peaks along the road rise to between 10,000 and 13,000.
While the road is accurately categorized as "scenic" it is not without some very rewarding motorcycle miles as you drop off one plateau and rise up onto the next.
Ely is a historic town not to be missed as is Caliente, famous for it's place in early US railroad history.
This is an awesome north-south alternative to I-15.
