- "Please tell me of a road of this length and quality anywhere else in the Northeast. Other than the Blue Ridge Parkway, is there anything better East of the Mississippi??? Starting in East Branch and heading North, the first 50 miles include mountains, streams, reservoirs, 55 mph sweepers, great pavement, blue sky. Then you got 50 miles of scenic, hilly farm land all the way to Amsterdam. Once thru the city limits (sorry) you have another 190 miles of mountains, streams, lakes and more sweepers. Doesn't matter what you ride, there is something for every biker to enjoy. If you want to find out about the 'other New York', try this road.....you will not be disappointed." - Frank Ranalli (7/20/10)
- "Went out of our way last weekend to include this road on our trip from NJ to Cooperstown. What a treat! Great scenery, nice sweepers and very little traffic. Where are all the bikes in this area?? They must know of some REALLY good roads." - Rich, Long Valley, NJ (6/5/09)
- "Just north of Route 17, there is a 30-mile stretch of Route 30 [posted 55mph] that hugs the south shore of the Pepacton Reservoir and is basically one long series of 50mph sweepers. Good sight lines most of the time, not much traffic, periodic passing zones. Hot sport bikers might be bored except at ridiculous speeds, but cruisers and tourers should get their grin on after about the 5th curve." - Bill Brickley (11/3/08)
- "Route 30 north or south, Lake Clear Junction, (best stop) Bikers welcome, Charlies Inn, great parking, great food, great rooms, great camping, great bar, great gas, 93 octane. Check them out on the web, www.newyorksnowmobiling.com, or Charlies Inn, search." - Anonymous (5/18/08)
- "This is a really nice little day trip if you live in the area. Roads are in great shape with plenty of twisty roads and opportunities to open up the throttle. The scenery is beautiful on a clear summer or fall day with the exception of Amsterdam." - Anonymous (10/15/07)
- "Took this route just last month and it was GREAT!!! Rode from Catskills to Ottawa and, with the exception of passing though Amsterdam, the ride was scenic and road was in good condition." - Anonymous Rider (7/18/07)
