Rider Comments:
- "Route 5 provides picturesque views of the Mohawk Valley. Several small towns line the route between Schenectady and Utica. Be sure to check out Schenectady's Stockade District, the oldest historic district in New York State and grab a bite at the Stockade Inn, Van Dyke, or the new Aperitivo Bistro next to famous Proctor's Theater. Watch out for Amish horse-drawn carriages which frequently drive along Rt 5 near Palatine Bridge. Great picture opportunities west of Fonda at "Big Nose" where the road runs alongside a sharp drop off. And finally, drop into the F.X. Matt/ Saranac Brewery at the end of your trip and grab a cold one!" - Rider from Sciota, NY (/10)
