- There are many nice roads coming south, up out of the Mohawk Valley into the northern foothills of the Catskills in Otsego County, Route 51 is probably the best and most challenging, as traffic allows. - Tom Pritchard (9/18/12)

- This road heads south from the intersection of County Road 15 in Ilion, NY and ends at the intersection of County Road 49. This is the Ilion Gorge and there is a stream flowing next to the road most of the way. - Dave Brescia (6/18/10)
- Nice twisties. Tests your abilities on several tight corners. Route 51 goes down through Ilion gorge and is an excellent ride. Rivals the Route 13 ride out of Cazenovia. - Brian Dewey (7/20/07)

- Mini-Dragon! This is the Ilion Gorge Road. The speed signs are not exagerations on this short stretch of road. Lots of fun, however there are stopping spots for fishermen etc. Take care.
