"Starting at RT 9N (Hague), you will experience some nice tight sweeping turns while climbing the mountain. Along the way watch, full eyes will capture a quick view of "elephants head" rock on the left side of the road in Graphite. Once reaching the top you will experience some great mountain vistas. There are two scenic overlooks on the road, lots of room to stop and view. After reaching the bottom of the mountain you will see a small red barn on the right. Palisades Road will be on your right about 1/2 mile beyond. This road runs best east to west." - Andrew deLivron (7/12/08)

"A great ride through the Adirondacks, the stretch from Wevertown to the junction of NY 30 is a series of hills and curves with sporadic views of mountains and lakes, including Gore Mountain, which is snow into May. While there are no really challenging areas, there are a couple of stretches between NY 30 and Speculator to open things up (watch for troopers!), and some state camping areas in Piseco, south of Speculator. Adjoining rides in the same area are NY 28 from Warrensburg into Old Forge (stay away during tourist season!) and Route 30 from Speculator to Blue Mountain Lake.
