- 100+ miles of riding bliss! For any rider in the PA area, this road is a must, especially when the autumn colors peak. more...Route 120 (aka Bucktail Trail Scenic Byway) has to be my favorite cruising road in PA, if not the entire northeast. With excellent road surface throughout, nice wide sweeping turns, you can cruise at 70 through most of it, enjoying the scenery along the way. Whenever I'm up in the PA Wilds, I always make sure I at least do the stretch from Lock Haven to Hyner View - the road runs in the deep valley along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River, with some sweeping views of the river and mountains. After Emporium, the terrain levels out a bit, and you go through rolling farmlands to St. Marys & Ridgway. In addition, 120 is a jumping off point for all the great roads - routes 144, 555, etc. - that make this area a rider's paradise. Don't miss it! - Charlie from Philadelphia, PA (10/2/10)
- Took a trip of the PA Route 6, Grand Canyon, last year and after taking it from east to west decided to take a different route back as I was not very impressed with the Route 6 ride. more...So I had heard about this route and we decided to try it out for the trip back and it quickly became one or my top "must do" PA rides. Definitely not for the touristy type as there are few towns, but if you're into a bit of twisties and some downright gorgeous scenery, then this is the route for you. Roads are in decent shape and not much traffic making it easy to pass the occasional slow vehicle. - Anonymous (3/11/10)
- State Route 120 is an awesome road. Definitely one of the best. more...I have a cabin on this road in Sinnamahoning and we just did the trip on the Motorcycles last weekend. I can't believe I have been going to this cabin for so long and never took the bikes. Nice long sweeping curves. - Gary (8/25/09)
- Rode this about one month ago. It could be addictive. more...The road is soft, scenery spectacular, and folks and food at St. Mary, good. - Anonymous (8/6/08)
- Very beautiful route. Take this road and feel your stresses and lifes worries disappear in the turns. more...A slight detour to Benezzette will reward you with elk viewing areas. They are majestic animals for those that have never seen them. In Hyner there is a lookout that is not marked on 120. Easy to get to. It is in the state park. You can look out over miles of 120 from the top. - Rob (12/21/07)
- This is a nice ride. Beautiful scenery with the road passing through cliffs on one side and a drop off to a large stream or river on the other. more...Caution on riding through St. Mary. Maybe it was the wrong day, but the drivers there seemed agressive with a dislike for bikes. Also, in mid August, traffic on this road was lite. Last spring traffic was heavy and fast. - Anonymous (8/24/07)
- This road is right up there with the best in the North East. more...Lots of twisters and scenery. Small quaint villages along the way, but make sure your tank is full, not much in the way of gas or convenience stores. Follows the NS Rails for quite a ways. If you go in late fall, check the weather! St Mary's to Lock Haven, you must try it. - Anonymous (8/9/07)
