I can't believe no one has submitted this road.
Great path and scenery with the occasional stop for refreshments, lunch or ice cream.
The road might lack a place to spend the night but it makes it up in technical riding.
Sweepers, elevation changes, switchbacks and just enough country two lane road to make everyone happy from the cruiser to the sport bike rider.
The only complaint I have is it's way too short.
One of my favorites!

One of the best roads in Central PA.
Two nice mountain crossings with hairpins rated at 10-15 MPH and scenic overviews.
Twisty sections even as it crosses the valley.
No gas or facilities.
Repaved within the past few years.
Southern section can become a bit busy during morning and afternoon weekday drive times.

I can't tell you how many times I have ridden on Route 74.
It is a very beautiful ride full of sweepers, incredible PA scenery, and plenty of fun corners.
Once you get away from Carlisle the traffic dies down a lot and makes for a great ride.
Besides some of the more difficult corners there really aren't many dangers.
Also, some of the attaching roads are great little escapes as well!

This route gives you two mountain crossings with twisties, and a good scenic section in between with nice sweepers.

Inn 74 is a biker friendly place to grab a good bite to eat before crossing the last mountain before going on to Carlisle.
