- "The turns on this road are very tight and rise or fall very rapidly (depending if you are ascending or descending). If you take this ride without a GPS, continue taking a series of left turns until you reach the top, otherwise you will get lost (the map screen capture is not complete). Duryea Drive is surrounded by woods, there are plenty of deer and other critters in these woods, be aware. You lose sight of the Pagoda for much of the ride and, just as you emerge at the top of the road, once again you see the Pagoda to your left, but you must turn right and go around the last remaining obstacle, the peak of the mountain. The stone wall at the edge of Skyline drive is fairly low and the drop-off on the far side is substantial. The City of Reading is in the initial stages of constructing a tourist center and a restaurant at the top of the mountain, please watch out for tourists and especially watch out for construction at the top. Skyline Drive, at the top of the Mountain, runs the length of Mount Penn and is a beautiful long stretch of road, eventually leading into 'horse and buggy' land, so don't ride too fast. The tourist shops inside Pagoda are a great place to pick up high quality Pennsylvania Dutch souvenirs not available in the City of Reading (no longer predominantly Pennsylvania Dutch culturally)." - Joel Harding (7/20/07)
