State Route 163 - Texas
Ozona to Comstock - 83 Miles
Rider Comments:
- "Wonderful ride. I found it by accident on my ride from California to San Antonio. Encountered no traffic heading south, and only very light traffic going the opposite direction. The lush brush along the river for many miles reduced the heat factor significantly during the mid day summer heat. The road was in good condition, the twists and turns are moderate to easy. The lush growth was a great contrast to the surrounding landscape. There were a number of ranches on this route which might come in handy if one encounters problems traveling alone like I was. I would be concerned about the low lying creeks following rains, so I would avoid this road. It was great to get off the boring-straight I-10." Rider from Los Angeles, California (5/17/07)
- "Narrow two lane paved road. Met about 5 vehicles (most border patrol pickups). Windy (as in twisty) horizontally and vertically (as it crosses creekbeds subject to flash flooding). Especially great ride along the Devils River." -Tom Evans (8/21/06)
