Rider Comments:
- "Although this road hasn't been improved on very much it is still in good shape. There is generally a slight bit of gravel from here and there but very clean and in good shape. Has a few technical turns but mostly just a fun fast road. Use caution for vehicles in the opposite direction crossing the center line especially in the turns you can't see the exit and also deer are abundant but mostly a non threat during bright days. Great route if you're heading towards Kerrville from Austin, San Marcos, New Braunfels area. Kendall County does patrol their portion of the road and occasionally a state trooper can be seen lurking, but most are bike friendly as long as you're not riding in a squidly manner." - Anonymous (3/31/09)
- "This is an outstanding road and not well known. Law enforcement is very light on this road, as is traffic. Look out for deer all day, but especially during low light conditions. This road is unsafe after dark due to deer." - Anonymous (8/26/07)
- "Runs E/W from Comfort, TX to Hwy 32, traveling parallel north of the Guadalupe River and crossing many creek drainages. Scenic views from the hilltops and off to the south. Expect offcamber decreasing radius corners, and corkscrews into and out of some of the low water crossings. It's a mixed grill of twisties and sweepers with the occasional straight thrown in. Another old road that hasn't been "improved" other than the western end from Old # 9 to Comfort. Watch out for DEER. Sisterdale and Kendalia are food/beverage stops along the way. Fuel only in Comfort or Blanco. Winery tour in Sisterdale." - Dan Greenlee (2/25/07)
