Rider Comments:

  • "Rode Lime Creek road for the first time today. It's recently paved and it lived up to it's reputation for being very twisty. It is a short, but very scenic trip with awesome views of Lake Travis and beautiful trees. I plan to ride it again soon. There are several curves that are labeled 15 MPH, and you should take it seriously, especially if it's your first time on the road. These curves are usually blind and tight. Beware - there are no guard rails and there are some steep banks right beside the road. There were a couple of hairpin curves that had gravel or rocks spread across the road so be careful!" - Jeff Nichols (4/10/10)
  • "Water park and good little cafe in Volente at the south end. One of the shorter routes but fun enough to make it worth it." - Rider from Kiowa, CO (2/23/10)
  • "All of Lime Creek Road from Volente to Whitestone Blvd is now tar and chipped, or chip sealed. Effectively making it hazardous at best for all motorcycles until the excess rocks are off of the road. Which hasn't happened as of August, 2009." - Greg (8/29/09)
  • "Volente Beach is where Lime Creek Road dead ends to Cypress Creek Road (2769). If you just want to enjoy the vew of the lake and have a good burger, they have a VIP lounge next to Volente Beach." - Rider from Austin, TX (7/22/08)
  • "This road follows Lake Travis shore line and has many 15 to 25mph curves - it's a very twisty road with views of the lake. It's not a long road, but you'll want to rerun it for sure!" - Wayne Ware (4/7/08)
  • "This has got to be one of the most enjoyable twisty turning roads I have been on in Texas. Some great views overlooking Lake Travis." - Michael Morgan (2/13/08)
  • "From Austin, take FM 2222 west. 2222 changes into Bullick-Hollow Road (a few good eateries at this intersection), then after about 1/2 mile, turn left at the stop sign and follow signs to get on Lime Creek Road. Very twisty, several semi-blind hairpins. Thankfully, most of these you are going downhill towards the turn and so is the other direction, so if you keep your eyes up, you'll see that trailer coming the other direction and have plenty of time to get ready. Occasional gravel on this road, but has never caused me trouble. Recently started seeing new home construction on this road. Hopefully the new residents appreciate the kind of road they'll be living on. Both FM 2222 and FM 1431 have some fun sweeping sections, so it's a great ride no matter which end you start/finish from." - Jason Gibson (5/2/07)
