• Unfortunately, Park Road 1C is closed from Cottletown Road through Bastrop State Park due to the devastating wildfire that swept through the Lost Pines in September 2011. Check the Bastrop State Park Website for current information about the road closure. The fire has totally changed the character of this ride. -
• This road is a narrow two lane blacktop with trees for shoulders and two way traffic. It doesn't appear as though much grading was done other than to clear the trees. The rollercoaster comment is truthful, take extreme care to stay in your lane as oncoming traffic (autos and bicycles) may not be visable until the last second. You may encounter bicycles moving much slower than yourself traveling the same direction. Lots of uphill and downhill runs with very tight turns and did I mention trees for shoulders. - Gary Vasser (8/17/07)
• What a wonderful little road for a 'twist and go' scooter! Twisty, turney, ups & downs in the dappled sunlight of the Lost Pines Forest. Watch your speed though; it's easy to get excited and lost in the fun & exceed the speed limit! Now that I've ridden in twice on my 50cc I can't wait to do it on my 150cc.
