- "State Road 821 is also called Yakima Canyon Road, and as the name implies, it runs through a beautiful canyon along the Yakima River for nearly all of its 28 miles. This is one fine road! In contrast to roads on the western side of the Cascades, it is a semi desert area and that features sweeping curves and a few tight twisties, and has little or no development with the exception of a fine highway. It runs just west of I-82 from about 7 miles north of Yakima to I-90 near Ellensburg, and is an easy scenic detour off the Interstate.
